We are proud to announce Lisa Marie Opdahl as a new partner at our Bergen office from 1 July 2024. Lisa brings extensive experience in the ocean industries and will contribute to further strengthening Thommessen's well-established position in shipping, fisheries, and aquaculture.
Lisa has broad expertise in shipping, offshore, and other ocean-related sectors. She primarily focuses on transactions and contracts, including shipbuilding agreements, charterparties, and collaboration agreements. She also has significant experience with regulatory issues in the ocean industries, particularly the framework governing the seafood sector.
Her work has a strong international dimension, especially in shipping, where she has extensive experience in transactions and financing, sale-and-leaseback structures, ship sales and purchases, and shipbuilding contracts. She also brings valuable practical industry experience from the international shipping company Teekay in Canada, where she was part of the in-house legal team.
Lisa joins us from the law firm BAHR, where she has worked since graduating from the University of Bergen in 2011. She became a partner in autumn 2021 and has since been based at BAHR’s Bergen office, leading their focus on fisheries and aquaculture.

For over 90 years, Thommessen’s Bergen office has provided business law expertise to the key industries of Western Norway – increasingly with an international focus. Lisa will be based at the Bergen office but, like the rest of the team, will work closely with colleagues in Oslo, Stavanger, and London.
